On the 12th February 2009, the NCRI Informatics Initiative and the National Cancer Intelligence Network hosted a joint workshop for the NCRI’s Consumer Liaison Group.

The workshop successfully created awareness amongst CLG members of the work being conducted by both initiatives. Demonstrating how each aims to ensure the cancer community makes effective use of the vast amount of the data, information and resources that currently exists. It also provided an excellent forum for discussion with the opportunity for patients’ questions to be answered, the concepts and challenges of informatics to be explained whilst exploring ways for patients to make a significant contribution to both initiatives.
